Lawren concentrates on media relations and analyst relations for several clients, and has worked with a wide variety of technologies over his 8 years at Tech Image. Prior to joining Tech Image, Lawren has 14 years of experience in editorial pitching from the vendor's perspective.  At ViewSonic, a $1 Billion high-tech firm, Lawren helped refine the awards submission process which contributed to ViewSonic's total of 1000 industry awards.  His years of press tours, interviews, and editorial appointments give him an awareness of newsworthy angles and approaches that satisfy both the reporter and the Tech Image client.  In 2007, PRSourceCode recognized Lawren as one of the top 25 technology PR professionals in the country, based on the votes of 300 reporters and editors.

What is Your Favorite Success Story?
Recently, we took a “big picture” approach to pitching a client to Investor's Business Daily. Rather than focus on the client product in isolation, I highlighted the growth of the digital advertising market, and how our client was facilitating market growth with its solutions strategy. I lined up supporting analysts, solutions partners, users, and statistics from our client to package the complete story for the writer. He liked the pitch, and decided to write the story, which portrayed our client as a market leader and market-maker.

What Are Your Hobbies and Interests?
In my free time, I serve on the board of directors for Arroyos & Foothills Conservancy working to help preserve open space, trails, watersheds and natural lands for hiking, recreation, and wildlife habitat. Composing and recording music is also a favorite hobby, and I like to play guitar and bass. I also like the outdoors and the ocean. Lately, I've had my hands full with our twin boys.

What is the Title of the Last Good Book You Read?

Land Conservation Through Public/Private Partnerships by John Chafee. Most of my reading lately is to build my knowledge of effective land conservation practices for my work on the Arroyos & Foothills Conservancy. The next books I am reading deal with the topic of information overload and how to best manage focus in a world where email, social media and other information streams compete for attention while you are balancing strategic thinking time. The books are “RAPT – Attention and the Focused Life,” and “Find Your Focus Zone.”

Who Are Your Favorite Recording Artists?
James Brown, Beck, Cake, Sheryl Crow, Led Zepplin, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Marley, Red Hot Chili Peppers.

What are your favorite TV shows?
Colbert Report, and my kids like Shaun The Sheep.

Why Are You a Good Fit at Tech Image?
I know how to package a story idea so that we get the coverage. I enjoy thinking of new angles to pitch a story and I'm comfortable with editors. I know what a client wants from their PR team based on my experience as a vendor. I can also contribute to our clients' ability to win magazine awards.
