What
is Your Favorite Success Story?
When it comes to success stories, I follow the old adage,
"You're only as good as your last story." Whether it's
putting an article to bed or seeing that everyone on
the team feels like something has been accomplished,
my satisfaction is driving home at the end of the day
knowing things are good around the table.
If I have to choose just one? Maybe it could be my moment
of fame while at the Los Angeles Times when
I had the worldwide exclusive on a failed airplane door
that had not yet been switched out on an airplane. The
story was heart-wrenching but, I admit, the high praise
was not. The other success story that stands out in
my mind is when I spent a summer knee-deep in soybean
and corn fields while handling PR for an agricultural
company. One of my responsibilities on this account
was to direct two guys with cameras for an instructional
video while working with the company's sales team on
customer tours. The sales guys didn't realize I was
also filming for an internal video that would be used
at their annual sales meeting at the end of the year.
When it came time to present the piece, my client received
a standing ovation. I flew home from that sales meeting
knowing things were good around the table!
What Are Your Hobbies and Interests?
Diversity is the key. I never tire of painting my walls with rags,
sponges and odd rollers. If I don't like the color this
week, I just remix and add another layer on top. I love
to spin. Nope, that has nothing to do with yarn, although
I can knit. I'm on a stationary bike alongside about
50 other folks in a darkened room, rocking out to the
beat of the music. Sometimes, I'm into cooking. Sometimes
I'm not. That's when it's all about finding the perfectly
prepared seared tuna.
What is the Titles of the Last Good Books You Read?
Who has time to read? I have a new puppy, Jake. He's a high
energy Vizsla. Right now, I'm training him not to eat
the last great book I read: "Harry Potter and the Deathly
Hallows." (I'm really going to miss the series.)
Who Are Your Favorite Recording Artists?
Pretty much anything my spinning instructor plays. But we're all too busy climbing to the beat for me who ask who the artist is.
Why Are You a Good Fit at Tech Image?
Like I said, diversity is the key. Each client is unique. Every situation is different. The fun is taking all the pieces of the puzzle, be it product, solution, message or people, and figuring out how they fit to make a great story.
