Account Management & Development

  • Owns and is individually accountable for multiple key client relationships. Manages relationships with client contacts for long-term account health.
  • Retains >= 90 percent of assigned client revenues on a year-over-year basis.
  • Completely understands client’s businesses, product and service offerings, goals and objectives. Anticipates client business needs. Creates strategies to identify appropriate responses and timing. Implements programs that achieve client goals. Measures results. Creates reports and presentations for client meetings/end of month reports. Provide insights.
  • Forms positive relationships with both the clients’ internal resources as well as Tech Image team members to ensure the high levels of work product quality and that the agency surpasses client expectations. Builds trust and fosters teamwork and a constructive work environment
  • Oversees high-quality client work product from media relations, content and social media team members. May need to individually contribute to media relations, content and social media activities and results, based on client needs, specifically.
    • Pitches and contributes to client media coverage goals in order to ensure we are achieving or surpassing client KPI’s.
    • Builds and maintains strong media relationships in order to strengthen the capabilities and competence of Tech Image.
  • Leads delivery of Digital PR Best Practices and integrates them into client work flows. Mirrors these practices within the agency’s culture.
  • Provides clear, regular two-way communication between the client and the Tech Image team. Provides strong team representation and sets proper client expectations.
  • Manages time efficiently. Is accountable for operational excellence on assigned accounts.
  • Uses process tools (Basecamp) to improve project management and communications

Staff Management and Development

  • May directly or indirectly supervise a number of individuals. Responsible for performance management of direct reports.
  • Ensures team engagement and commitment to Tech Image business objectives.
  • Leads cohesion and alignment across client teams.
  • Drives Digital PR best practices across all agency workflows.
  • Fosters an open and inclusive agency culture, where diverse people can thrive.

Business Development

  • Grows incremental revenue from existing clients via direct selling of incremental service offerings and programs.
  • Follows various industry news and trends to produce new business opportunities.
  • Leverages own professional network to produce new business opportunities
  • Researches, prepares, participates in/leads new business pitch meetings


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or other related field.
  • 7-10 years of public relations agency experience, preferably in the technology sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute the latest Digital PR program strategies and tactics.
  • Proven track record of client relationship-building and client service.
  • Experience pitching business and consumer stories to traditional and non-traditional media outlets
  • Strong writing and editing skills; Expert in AP-style.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of programs
  • Familiarity with Cision, TechNews, Trendkite and other digital PR tools.
  • Strong ability to multitask; strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment; exercise independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Experience with social media platforms and their use for audience engagement to support media relations strategy.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations to help guide business strategy.
  • Leadership, interpersonal effectiveness and development skills required to encourage results, grow individuals and build strong teams and client relationships.
  • Strong project management skills.

What You Will Do

  • Work collaboratively with clients and the internal team to craft pitches that are both strategic and creative
  • Develop media lists (traditional, social, digital influencers) for specific projects and pitch client stories for placement opportunities
  • Conduct keyword research and make keyword recommendations to guide word choices for press releases and other content
  • Establish and maintain long-term relationships with key media contacts
  • Facilitate interviews between journalists and client subject matter experts
  • Provide PR counsel to both clients and internal team members as required
  • Manage monthly reporting and create presentations for client meetings/end of month reports
  • Research and assist in preparations for new business meetings

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution, with a concentration in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing or other relevant degree
  • 0-4 years of relevant professional experience in media relations, corporate marketing, public relations or journalism

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous agency experience is highly preferred
  • For entry-level candidates, previous internship experience is highly preferred
  • Experience supporting media relations in the following sectors is a plus: Construction/Tools, Software/Technology, Consumer/Fitness and/or Regulatory/Government Affairs
  • Knowledge or experience in interactive account management and coordination, media relations, social media and PR campaign strategy and execution
  • Experience with traditional, digital and social media platforms
  • Proficiency in Associated Press (AP) writing style
  • Proficiency with basic computer programming, including the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
