Philip Anast
Account Services Manager

Philip Anast brings almost 20 years of experience in journalism and advanced technology public relations – both on the corporate and agency sides of the business – to Tech Image. Philip is responsible for sustaining and growing client relationships, providing strategic counsel, and managing client programs. Anast has served clients in the supply chain execution, digital display, managed services, data center, name recognition software and telecom industries, among others. In 2007, Philip and his Tech Image colleagues received Silver Trumpet Awards from the Publicity Club of Chicago for their strategic and media relations work on behalf of clients Innovation Advisors and Memex.

Prior to joining Tech Image, Philip worked in the technology practices of Porter Novelli and Hill & Knowlton. He also has worked in the PR departments of 3Com and U.S. Robotics.

Philip earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in journalism from Northwestern University in 1987 and 1988, respectively.

What is your favorite success story?
In the fall of 2002, Tech Image became the PR agency of record for Language Analysis Systems (LAS), a maker of name-recognition software headquartered in Herndon, Va. While the company was well-known in government circles, it did not have mindshare with the private sector. Tech Image built a media relations program around the first anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, and how LAS’s software could help border agents, government agencies and commercial enterprises better understand people’s names and their origins. Within months, Tech Image garnered LAS coverage in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times and on CNBC. In early 2006, LAS was acquired by IBM – the result of Tech Image branding and PR campaigns.

What are your hobbies and interests?
Outside of work, Philip serves on his church’s Parish Council and is active in family retreats and missions. Philip also enjoys spending time with family, cooking, cheering for the Chicago White Sox, and reading.

What is the title of the last good book you read?
Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie. The fictional work traces her famous detective Hercule Poirot as he solves one of his toughest cases. Christie writes with painstaking detail in this story of love, revenge and the long-arm of justice.

Who are your favorite recording artists?
I enjoy listening to different kinds of music – from jazz to Byzantine chant.

Why are you a good fit at Tech Image?
I’m a good fit at Tech Image because I’m a team player who wants to help Tech Image succeed as the leader in technology public relations.
