Ken Krause
Creative Director
In his role as Creative Director, Ken brings a great breadth of experience in helping organizations communicate their messages to all of their audiences, both on the agency and the client sides. With a strong background in writing as well as account service, he is able to help clients craft their message and then execute it. Ken came to Tech Image from ASAP Software, one of the leading international resellers of software, services, and solutions, where he was Marketing Communications Manager. His duties there included development of Public Relations, direct mail, advertising, collateral materials and more. Prior to joining ASAP, Ken worked for agencies marketing home improvement and automotive products, and a retailer of stereo and video equipment in their advertising department. He is very good at taking complex technologies and simplifying them in a way that can be understood by a non-expert audience. Areas of strength include networking hardware and software, telecom, software development issues, and consumer electronics.

What
is Your Favorite Success Story?
There have actually been several since I joined Tech Image. Two of them were helping clients build their companies to the point where they were acquired by bigger players – making instant millionaires out of both of them. (Where is Ronald Reagan’s Trickle-Down theory when you need it?) Another was a thought leadership program we did for a former client. We helped him quickly build his reputation as a subject matter expert on the future of technology, to the point where the campaign won several awards and was recognized by an industry pundit as an ideal example of how thought leadership should work. And we did all that without him having a single customer, or even delivering a finished product. Just getting through the technology bubble bust from 2001-2003 was no small feat either. And now look at us!
Personally, it’s that my kids are growing up to be good people who care about others almost as much as they care about saving the galaxy from the Empire.
What
Are Your Hobbies and Interests?
I play guitar and keyboard and sing in a rock and roll band called the Bosko Brothers. Check us out if you see us around, but no yelling “Freebird” from the audience. I’m head coach for one of the Mundelein Thunder girls traveling fastpitch softball team, as well as VP of that organization. In addition, I also teach private pitching lessons for fastpitch softball, write a column for Softball Magazine, and attend various sports and activities as a fan of my children. In my spare time…wait, I don’t have any.
What is the
Title of the Last Good Book You Read?
I have just two books on my nightstand – the Marine Corps Field Manual and the Holy Bible. Wait, that’s a line from A Few Good Men. The real answer is Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling. Probably not as “intellectual” of an answer as you might like but it was extremely well-written and engaging. Just goes to show once again that a great story is a great story, whether it involves technology products or wizards and witches.
Who
Are Your Favorite Recording Artists?
The Beatles are my #1 favorites, now and forever. I like a lot of the older bands, like the Beach Boys and Creedence Clearwater Revival – I’m a sucker for well-crafted pop. Bruce Springsteen is another favorite, although moreso his work between Born to Run and The River than some of the later stuff. Occasionally I hear current tunes I like, but haven’t really latched onto many of the new bands full-out. I like a lot of modern country, too. My not-so-secret indulgence is that I’m a huge Gary Lewis and the Playboys fan. I even met him once, which was both a thrill and a disappointment.
What
are your favorite TV shows?
I’m not even going to bother pretending I don’t watch, although I have to admit I still miss Buffy the Vampire Slayer as a new show. Thank goodness for DVDs. Also for Reaper, which has taken its place in the good v. evil as an allegory for real life department. The Simpsons, South Park, Two and a Half Men, The Office, and How I Met Your Mother are other favorites.
Why Are You a Good Fit
at Tech Image?
I have a very well-rounded background in marketing, and I am strong enough to change the water bottle. |
